The City’s emergency preparedness program ensures that the City is able to prepare for, respond to, mitigate, and recover from all manner of disasters.
In a disaster incident, City staff will implement the City’s Emergency Operations Plan, coordinate with all public safety and community agencies responsible for disaster response, and educate City staff and community members.
This year Antelope Valley will participate in the first regional Great Shakeout with many of Antelope Valley organizations, businesses, and school districts. The cities of Palmdale and Lancaster will take an active role in planning for and exercising their response and recovery before, during and after an earthquake.
You may go to our earthquake page to learn about the Drop, Cover and Hold technique, and ways to keep you and your family safe.
You may also register to participate in the Great Shakeout as an individual or a business by visiting thegreatshakeout.org page.
