Palmdale residents want to keep the community clean by disposing of bulk waste items through the
proper channels. The City of Palmdale makes it easy for residents to find disposal solutions for a
variety of household items. For more information, use the resource list in the next section.

Donate your items to the Goodwill Southern California Store & Donation Centers. Visit their website for center locations and a list of accepted items.
Waste Management (WM) provides many ways to dispose of and recycle your waste.
4 Free Pickups
Palmdale household residents are allotted 4 FREE bulky item pick-ups on their regular service day each year. Each free pick-up allows 4 bulky items per household. Collection must be scheduled 48 hours in advance of service day. Use one of the resources below to schedule your collection.

Palmdale Landfill
All Palmdale residents have two free landfill visits annually (using landfill e-vouchers) for disposal of up to one ton of waste each visit. Residential customers may drop off up to 6 mattresses per household for free without the use of a landfill voucher.
Collection Center (AVECC) Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Waste Management (WM) encourages residents to drop off household hazardous waste and e-waste at the Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC). This facility manages the disposal of special materials and serves the needs of AV residents for free. They operate every 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, but are closed April 3rd, 2021. Residential Shred Service Day
Shredding services are available to City of Palmdale residents every second Saturday of an odd month from 9am - 12pm. Proof of residency is required (driver’s license or WM invoice). Maximum of 5 boxes. No metal clips, binders or plastic sheet covers. Staples, file folders and envelopes are okay. Shredding company does not take used cardboard boxes or commercial waste.
