Residents connect with City staff through multiple avenues (e.g., social media, phone call, walk-in, website). We are pleased to announce that our residents are now able to connect with the City via text message. Texting is one of the most common cell phone activities.

The City of Palmdale has partnered with TextMyGov, a web-based software, which enables residents to connect with the City via their mobile phone’s messaging service. Residents can use this messaging system to report an issue, ask a question, or find city related information.

When reporting an issue (i.e., pothole, graffiti, street sign) residents will be asked specific guided questions regarding the issue and location of the problem and can even upload a photo of the problem. Reports and code violations get emailed to admin staff for routing to the correct staff members, and Public Works issues will soon be integrated into Lucity.

Residents can also text in keywords (i.e., hours, agenda, parks) and receive autogenerated responses with an answer to their question or a link to the City of Palmdale’s website containing relevant information.

Residents are also able to sign up to receive Mass Notification/City Alerts via text message. These alerts will generate out of the Communications Department.

Residents can text “Palmdale” to 91896 and opt-in for City alert notifications.
