Request Use of a Neighborhood House

Garden Plot Application

Neighborhood Houses

The Neighborhood House program provides opportunities for residents to participate in programs right in their own neighborhood. They serve as a meeting place for community-based organizations; offer drop-in afternoon activities for children; and provide a variety of services and programs offered by community groups. The programs are free to residents of the neighborhood.

The Neighborhood Houses are located in dedicated Focus Neighborhoods, serving as a resource center under the Neighborhood Improvement Strategy.

In Partnership with the City of Palmdale, Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) is the responsible community partner of program and daily management of the Neighborhood House program. The City is excited about the new possibilities of this affiliation. To request the use of a Neighborhood House, please contact AVPH at the information to the left or by clicking the “Request Use of a Neighborhood House” button.

Community Gardens

Palmdale’s Community Garden program provides the opportunity for residents, without their own gardening space, to maintain an individual plot in a community space, encouraging neighbors to work side by side, eat healthier, share their harvest, exercise, and participate in their neighborhood's success. Priority is given to residents living in multifamily residences. In Partnership with the City of Palmdale, Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) is the responsible community partner of the Community Garden program. AVPH will be helping gardeners with programming, community events, and maintaining the gardens.

“Gardens, scholars say, are the first sign of commitment to a community. When people plant corn they are saying, ‘Let's stay here.’ And by their connection to the land, they are connected to one another.” —Anne Raver
